By Buyers, for Buyers
Established in the UK in 2000 and
subsequently incorporated in Australia in 2007, Trade Interchange combines its specialised procurement expertise with proven internet technology. Our industry experience enables us to deliver substantial cost-reduction, timesaving and communication benefits to customers of all sizes.
The company is owned by the founders and employees.
People
The company was founded in the UK by Andy Tyson and Simon Brake. This followed their successful careers as procurement managers and buyers in the food and hospitality industries over the previous two decades. Their experience and awareness of the mixed technology skill levels of suppliers led to the fundamental design goal of simplicity of use. This has proven to be a highly successful approach and is one of the most commonly cited aspects of the reverse auction platform - by both buyers and suppliers.
Asia Pacific Sydney office
The Asia Pacific business, based in Sydney, is led by Kevin Burke. Prior to founding Trade Interchange (Asia Pacific) Pty Ltd, Kevin spent 28 years in the IT industry in technical, marketing and business management roles.
The last 13 years of which were with Microsoft Australia where he was the Director of their Small Business Division.
Europe London office
The Commercial Team is led by Simon Brake and Andy Tyson, the original co-founders of the business. With so many years experience exclusively in the field of reverse auctions there are very few individuals with more skill and knowledge in this field.
The Technical Team Teesside office
Having worked both in the field of specialist software development and directly within the industries we service, our team of professionally qualified developers has the in depth experience with which to deliver reliable, relevant and advanced software solutions.
The Technology
Now entering its 6th iteration, The thoroughly proven Trade Interchange reverse auction platform is a secure web based system designed to use industry standard web browsers. Each customer organisation is provided with their own secure auction location. The system has been built with simplicity as a key design goal, especially on the supplier side. This recognises the infrequent use of the system by suppliers and varying levels of familiarity with computer based systems.
The system is available 24x7. It is built with full redundancy and fail-over and is housed in a physically secured hosting environment (shown right) providing power back up systems and multiple communications trunks. Together with our award winning hosting partner Rackspace Managed Hosting, Trade Interchange provides
a reverse auction platform that meets the highest industry standards with regards to security, availability and reliability.
